Dr. Christian Pantenus
ChairmanA former senior scientific officer of FAO Empres Programme and a desert locust control expert
with over 30 years experience in fighting desert locusts and controlling them across tropical and
sub-saharan Africa.DR CHRISTIAN has authored of a number of books and journals about desert
locusts.He has worked in East Africa for so many years and lived in Tanzania before returning to
Belgium.Currently,DR Christian has been assigned by FAO to lead a team that is currently helping
the East African countries affected and attacked by the desert locusts design mechanisms to fight
the locusts.As the chairman of RYEV,Dr Christian is responsible for the overall running of RYEV
activities as an individual who has the youth at heart especially those in rural Africa who are
devoid of opportunities.
